when i use the stupid method to take the exam and then the grade is incredibly low, i said to the lecturer, maybe i m too far away from the philosophical world.
in fact, the course is much about the resemblance and representational theory in which i have no awareness at all.
it might be a core topic in the department of philosophy in UCLA and others universities. but well you know, in hong kong, who dares to teach these kind of aesthetics and philosophical subject in arts. i feel totally frustrated bcoz i m starting from zero.
their native is english, they play around the language and terms like de re, per se, viz., iff, virtue, perception, conception and so on. as there is a long debate regarding all these issues in the west, they are all familiar with the logic (i will call) or language (symbol) and it sounds or seems to be quite easy for them to talk about the issue, mostly on the period from 1980′s.
to me, most issues seem to be outdated, and their discussion regarding the reality and the real are different from my notion on psychoanalysis.
after reading these art journals, i realized art critic or art journal is not my cup of tea and cannot hit my interest. even they are Danto, Walton, Goodman and so on…i cannot sense any happiness or satisfaction by reading their boring articles, which i do always enjoying them in psychoanalysis or even maths book.
so i shouted: i m too far away from the philosophical world, in other way too close to a way that i dun even know i m into it already.
(and my english doesnt sound better, also i am not capable to translate any of their article in chinese. sadly but surely i really dont understand their sentence structure.)
